I'm thinking most of you will have read the heading and thought it's another posting about a wonderful b-side by The Smiths.
It's way more important than that.
Let this press release explain it all:-
Teabags, tears and tunes to heal the soul. A new 14 track compilation of house, downtempo and indie, with all profits going to charity. The Let’s Go Somewhere Quiet album will be released worldwide on 20 August.
How many times do we hear that music can heal the broken-hearted? This new compilation from Acid Ted blog and THEE PAUSE takes you on a rollercoaster – the pain of hurt through to the blistering joy of being alive via a compilation of raucous dance, delicate house, acoustic indie and downtempo chill.
Crystal Castles remixer Alex Zelenka provides electronic wizardry in the pumping Gemini and Coventry’s QTheSuit offers twisted spybreaks in the cinematic thrill ride that is v6. The mysterious Larry Jefferson gives classic Detroit house sounds with Welcome. The other quieter side is shown by the heart-breaking poignancy of Stylusboy’s acoustic A Song for Noah and Coolio Franco’s Song for David. Sam Levine gives the joy of being alive in the jumping positivity of Rootless.
This album has a purpose beyond the joy of the music. Its exec producer Acid Ted blog is known not only for his music blog but also for his frank and raw diary of watching his beautiful boy fight against a brain tumour. And lose.
This is what has inspired him to bring these artists together for the first time and who are giving their services for free. All profits will go to brain tumour charities in the USA and UK

Life is what this album is about. The keeping going. The being able to see the dark irony in the mundane. Realizing life can change forever in the time it takes to go out and get some teabags. And, most of all, it’s about the music which reminds us what life is all about.
Available worldwide this August 20th via iTunes, Amazon, Juno, Beatport and all other fine online retailers.

OK folks. Much of this album contains the sort of music you normally find here at TVV. But I urge you to give it a try.
Acid Ted is one of my heroes. Whenever I reckon I'm having a shit time of it, all I need to do is think back a few years to when I used to read every day the blog/diary referred to in the press release.
How he held it all together in the face of such awful circumstances as he and Mrs Acid Ted watched their son battle so valiantly in a losing cause against brain cancer will always be beyond my imagination. Nothing that I get stressed about can come close to those circumstances. And all the while, the family remained so positive, even after the wee fella passed away. Now there's a new child for him and his missus to love and care for, but his first born will never be forgotten.
Meeting Acid Ted in the flesh last year remains a highlight of my life. It was one of those wonderful occasions when the event was way better than I ever dreamed it could be...and believe me I went along with high expectations.
Acid Ted has done loads to raise funds for the Brain Tumour Trust and this CD is the latest. I try my best to help out in a small way too....which is why I've a link to the charity over on the right hand side of this blog.
If buying Let's Go Somewhere Quiet is perhaps too much for you to take on, well how about making a small donation in lieu of any downloads you might have enjoyed courtesy of TVV over the past near six years. Every single penny and pound makes a difference.
Please Please Please.
Thank you so much dear readers.

Sometimes you don't know how precious life is until its taken away. Be thankful every minute of every day. Let's hope loads of folks that visit this blog take the time to either buy the CD or make a small donation
As weird coincidence would have it, today I've been taking part in a charity relay, carrying the Olympic Torch up Barnsley town hall clock tower (along with loads of other people) to raise money for this very same charity. A worthy cause that everyone should support.
Hear hear. Superb stuff. (The message, not the music!)
Barnsley Town Hall has a Clock Tower! Did it stop in 1974?
And for a Roath Raver, yer awfully considerate jc.
