It was 20 May 1986 that we first got to hear Vicar In A Tutu.
It was the second of two tracks played that evening on Whistle Test, and as Simon Goddard rightfully recalls, presenter Andy Kershaw offered a teasing first glimpse of the cover art of the new LP before the five-piece band let rip with such ferocity that the final album version we all got to know and love just a few weeks later sounded almost lame by comparison:-
It is indeed a far superior version to that which is on the LP. The band are on fire...
