UNRELATED STUFF OF QUALITY
I often find myself literally typing a note into the iphone when a song comes round on shuffle that I want to post up on TVV. After a while, I find I've got about 20-30 songs written down and I can't come up with anything to link them other than their top quality.
Here's some examples from the past 2 weeks:-
mp3 : King Creosote - Bootprints
mp3 : Pull In Emergency - 15 Years
mp3 : The Auteurs - Bailed Out
mp3 : Okkervil River - Your Past Life As A Blast
Some info just in case you don't know much about any of them:-
Kenny Anderson, known primarily by his stage name King Creosote, is an singer-songwriter from Fife, Scotland. To date, Anderson has released over forty albums, with his latest, Thrawn, released in 2011. Anderson is also a member of Scottish-Canadian band, The Burns Unit. In 2011, Anderson's collaborative album with Jon Hopkins, Diamond Mine, was nominated for the Mercury Prize.
Pull In Emergency were a London band whose sole album was released in late 2010 but not long after they split up. I don't know much about them other than the track 15 Years which is damn fine indie-pop.
The Auteurs. If you don't know about them then buy this book (essential) and this book (a half-decent follow-up companion piece)
Okkervil River are from Austin, Texas who make a lot of fine noise in the indie/folk genre. Still haven't forgiven them for daring to play in Glasgow the same night I was promoting my first and so far only gig just a couple of miles outside the city centre.
Happy Random Listening
